Welcome to the Whitman Condominium in Washington, DC’s Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood. Built in 2006, this 12-story building has 185 condo homes with floor plans from about 700 to more than 1,600 square feet.

A look inside two homes

In 2020, Evan Johnson toured two very different homes in the building.

Unit 1006: one bedroom, one bath. A bright, west-facing home with park views, hardwood floors in the living area and a gourmet kitchen with granite counters, stainless steel appliances and an island. The bedroom opens to a balcony for taking in the sunsets and has a large walk-through closet and a luxury bath.

Unit 1014: two-level penthouse, two bedrooms, two and a half baths. An open-concept penthouse with high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows on both levels, a renovated kitchen and plenty of storage. Upstairs, both bedrooms have walk-in closets and their own full baths. It lives more like a house than a condo.
