Insight into the nuances of buying and selling in one of the country’s most complex urban markets.
This page follows the Census boundary of the City of Manassas. The city meets Manassas Park on the northeast, reaches up the Sudley Road corridor on the northwest, and extends southwest along Route 28 to Manassas Regional Airport, with the Broad Run VRE station and the Route 234 bypass (Prince William Parkway) running just outside its southwestern edge. Prince William County surrounds the rest. Old Town sits at the center around the rail line and Center Street. Sudley Road holds the larger stores and the hospital, Liberia Avenue carries the east-side shopping centers, and Wellington Road and Godwin Drive serve the subdivisions on the southwest side.
Manassas station in Old Town is served by weekday VRE Manassas Line trains to Alexandria, Crystal City, L’Enfant and Union Station, and by three Amtrak routes. The Broad Run VRE station is beside the airport, just past the city’s southwest edge. Route 28 runs north to I-66 at Centreville, and Route 234 with the Prince William Parkway connects toward I-95. OmniRide runs local routes and the Manassas Metro Express to Tysons.
Errands cluster in three places. Old Town covers restaurants, coffee, small shops and the farmers market. Sudley Road has the larger stores along with UVA Health Prince William Medical Center. Liberia Avenue has supermarkets and service retail close to the east-side subdivisions. City offices, the Manassas Museum and the Harris Pavilion are all within a few blocks of the depot.
