The area on this page is the Glenn Dale Census-designated place. Good Luck Road and Duckettown Road mark the north side, the Bowie city line, Chestnut Avenue and High Bridge Road the east, and Annapolis Road (MD 450) the south. On the west the line follows the Folly Branch stream, Lanham-Severn Road (MD 564) and Greenbelt Road (MD 193). Glenn Dale Boulevard (MD 193) carries most through traffic, Glenn Dale Road passes the former hospital campus and the post office, and the WB&A Trail cuts across the middle.
Glenn Dale is a driving community. Glenn Dale Boulevard (MD 193) runs through it and connects north toward Greenbelt and south to Annapolis Road (MD 450), which leads to US 50 and the Capital Beltway. Lanham-Severn Road (MD 564) follows the rail corridor toward Lanham and Bowie. Seabrook station, just west, has weekday MARC Penn Line trains, and New Carrollton offers Metrorail, MARC and Amtrak.
Groceries, pharmacies and restaurants are found in the shopping centers along Annapolis Road, Greenbelt Road and Lanham-Severn Road at the edges of the community, with a wider selection in Bowie to the east and Lanham to the west. The Glenn Dale post office is on Glenn Dale Road. Plan on a car for nearly all errands, since sidewalks are not continuous between subdivisions.
