Woodley Park is a Northwest DC neighborhood along Connecticut Avenue, bordered by Rock Creek Park and the National Zoo. It combines leafy residential streets with a small commercial strip at Connecticut Avenue and Calvert Street and quick Red Line access to downtown.
The housing includes brick rowhouses from the early 1900s, many built by developer Harry Wardman, larger detached houses on streets such as Woodley Road and Cathedral Avenue, and landmark apartment and condominium buildings along Connecticut Avenue and Calvert Street, including Art Deco-era buildings from the 1920s and 1930s.
Daily life revolves around the Zoo, Rock Creek Park’s trails, and the restaurants and shops near the Metro. The Duke Ellington Bridge on Calvert Street leads directly to Adams Morgan’s dining, and Cleveland Park’s shops are a short walk north.
Woodley Park–Zoo/Adams Morgan station on the Red Line puts downtown about 10–15 minutes away. The neighborhood offers park-side living, architectural variety, and excellent transit.
